It's time for a Technique

To make up for me not feeling really well this weekend I thought I'd share an easy technique with you. It's a Faux Polished Stone. What you will start out with is a Rainbow pad and a brayer. Brayer this on a piece of glossy card stock.

Next you need Alcohol, a cotton ball and some gold reinker. Any kind will do. Wet your cotton ball with the alcohol and add 2 drops of the gold reinker.

Pounce around your piece. Add more alcohol if you want to move the gold a little more. Spray with Krylon Fixatif to hold the gold. That's it. Fast and easy.

Also remember my blobby marble mess. Well like I said I was going to go home and spray it
with webbing. Look how great it looks. I backed it with the new Kiwi Kiss. Image I received in a swap.

I hope you enjoy this technique.

Oh Hoppy Day !! It's Fall

Aren't these guys cute?? They are from Cornish Heritage Farms. I bought the stamp at Scrap and Stamp Art Studio in Lecanto, FL. at my Stamping in Florida group get together last month. Couldn't resist. I stamped the boys in Meadow Moss and then used Chalk to color it in. They are having so much fun singing. Just like the frogs here every night. The shiney background is a technique called Glimmering Waves. I used Moon Glow Royal Emerald Fire to spray after embossing. We used to do some fun things during the Fall up in Ohio. We miss doing them. Hayrides, pumpkin hunting, picking apples, camping at the KOA in Southern OH and all their great activities they had in Oct. Going to the parks for hiking and programs. This has always been a fun time of the year for my family. Not quite the same here but you trade things for other things. We've had bananas growing in the yard every year and this year my tangerine trees have tangerines on them. Of course there is no heating bill and I haven't put on a winter coat since I moved to Florida. 2 big plusses. We find other activities to amuse us. Like shelling on the beach. Never tire of that. Do any of you have any Fall activities you like. Tell me about them.

Make it Take its and my Cuttlebug

I'm working on a Make it Take it evening at the Stamping Studio. It has been a real challenge for me to make cards that are simple and quick. Trying to learn less is more. So today I got out the Cuttlebug and tried out a few of my folders. I used the Pumpkin Vine 3 different ways. This first one used a rust ink pad ink to paper. Added a piece of my backgrounds, ribbon from the Target Dollar bins and stamped the Inkadinkado image on Vellum. Attached it to a layer of copper with V2 Vellum adhesive. That stuff is awesome!

This one I used a gold pad ink to paper, stamped the 2 Inkadinkado images on acetate and attached it to the card with the V2 Vellum adhesive.

This last one is chalked. Added some punched leaves and a pumpkin I stamped and cut out. Painted it with Shimmerz for a little sparkle.

This one uses the Flower Vine. Used a gold pad ink to paper. Water colored the Inkadinkado birds and added a little sparkle with a clear Atyou Spica glitter pen. The Little butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch. I painted it with Shimmerz and an orange marker. I like this one the best.

Now for my kind of card. Stamped my sunflower on Chocolate Chip, Embossed with gold and bleached out. Then water colored with markers. Added some Shimmerz to the flower. Background is my favorite technique to do. That webbing just makes the colors pop. Webbing is a must have supply. It makes a great background everytime!

My first class

Yesterday I taught my first class at the Stamping Studio in Spring Hill. It was an enjoyable time. I showed them how to make a Double Slider and 3 really quick techniques for each front layer. Here is the picture.

Hope they all enjoyed the class. I was a little nervous teaching people I did not know. But that soon disappeared. Now to get ready for my next class. Encaustic wax and waxed napkins.

Two Techniques using white pigment ink

Last week end I showed my Florida stamping buddies how to do a technique called Rainbow Double. Dawn thought for sure I had the wrong name. She thought it was called Vanilla Double. So tonight I'm going to show you the difference. This is Rainbow Double.

For this we stamped our almost solid image with Versa mark randomly around the Glossy card stock. Brayered with a Rainbow Pad. Pounce your embossing buddy all around and then stamp a few more images with white Pigment ink. Pour on White embossing powder. Shake off the excess and heat emboss. Stamp a few more images with a matching dye ink. Use as a background for your card. Now remember this is Rainbow Double.

Now for Vanilla Double.

Take a piece of regular dark colored card stock and stamp an open image randomly around with white Pigment ink. You can use more than one stamp and pretty much fill up the piece of card stock. Wait 30 seconds or so and wipe with a paper towel. The white ink may smear a little but that is Ok. You are softening the background.

Next take a matching dye ink and stamp a solid image right over the top of the white images. Again you can use more than one stamp.

Using a sponge add ink to the edges.

Use this as a background to make your card.

Both techniques are very similar.
