Techno Stamper Challenge #10

I have a basket on my desk and every once in a while I add things to it. Backgrounds, paper, images already stamped and stamps I want to work with. Then when I sit down to work I try to confine myself to this basket. This weeks challenge was a problem as my images were all tall and not wide. I went through this basket a couple of times trying to make my images work and then I found this Japanese Lantern I had colored from I Brake for Stamps and things started to fall into place. I did cut out 2 arrows from different papers but decided I didn't like either one. Looked through my embellishment drawer and saw the paper clip and before you know it I had an arrow. I worked on this during the commercials last night. My husband watched me change card colors and backgrounds and cut things out and throw them back in the basket. I don't think he realized how much thought I put into my cards. He asked about the sketch which has been on the computer screen all week and I explained what I do each week. Wasn't happy with the card until I added the cord. Now I feel it's complete. I decided to print off these sketches each week and hang them above my desk as a reference. Now that I have some Nestabilities and some Coluzzles I plan on doing more layering and different arrangements when I work on my cards. What great gadgets these 2 things are.

Got my Coluzzle

Well today has been grand! After working so many hours last week I was really tired. So today was a nothing day. Still wearing my jammies at 4:30. Put a few things together. Sorted through stuff. Surfed the web. But all things stopped when the Coluzzle arrived. How easy is this!!! Here are 2 cards I put together from pieces parts I already had ready. The Lily is a PSX stamp and the fishy is an I Brake for Stamps. I need a good saying to go with him. Love his lips. I found a Bon Voyage in my stash. Thought this could be a card for a friend going on a cruise. The inside says See You Soon. It would be for the friend nervous about going on a cruise. OK well I need to go on over to I Brake for Stamps and find the saying made for him. Oh and I'm going to need some more Coluzzle shapes. LOL

Cuttlebug fun and a Demo tease

Well I've had a hectic week so hardly any play time this week but I did manage these 2 cards. The first one used my cuttlebug and some iridescent paper I got at Michaels. The stamp is one of I Brake for Stamps. I like him alot. The second card is a tease for my Florida buddies. This is Aprils demo. The husband has requested Rice pudding so I'm off to find a recipe.

This weeks Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge

As soon as I saw her sketch I knew what I was going do. I have the Acrylic blocks from Sparkle and Sprinkle I had bought after their demo at the Grand Opening of Scrap and Stamp art here in Lecanto, Florida. So I experimented with my EPs and found one that worked right, made my squares. That was several days ago. My schedule this week has been horrendous. So today I finally have a minute so I'm putting my card together. Boy is it a big card. Almost used a whole sheet of card stock. LOL I need a different size for the center I think and it would have worked out to look like the sketch but Oh well. It's close. And I haven't tried the technique since that day so it gave me an excuse to try it out.

Neverending card has an ending

Well after much thought and experimenting with images I decided the back of the card should be simple. After all you want them to figure out where the front of the card is. So I used some of my new papers I cuttlebugged and added a gold butterfly.
Glad that's done. Now to plan out the one for my Mom's Birthday/Mothers Day Card. It really was easier than my original card. I tried to do that all at once and you really need time to think about the flips. So one at a time worked well.

My life has gone to the Cuttlebugs

LOL Now that I have made so many pretty papers I need to get busy making some cards. Tried out all of the TJs Cuttlebug Techniques. Came up with a few of my own and now designing time is needed. I also tried a few other techniques and came across one I didn't remember ever seeing. Maybe it's because it calls for markers and I don't own any but it said you could use Sharpies and having a teenage daughter we have lots of colorful sharpies. The technique is called webbed acetate. Now how did I miss that??? Well I now have quite a few pieces of this cool technique to make some great cards. Here are two pictures. One uses the Technique called Cuttlebug Smoosh. This folder makes great backgrounds for Snowmen. The image is from a swap so I do not know the stamp co. The second card is webbed acetate. The stamp is from I Brake for Stamps. I love this technique. But before I can play with all my new things I must finish that Neverending Card. So I'm off to do just that.

Techno Stamper Monday Morning Sketch Challenge #8

I really like this layout. This weekly challenge has been a lot of fun. You can check Mary Jo's blog out here: Lot's of great ideas. Everything is SU. I've done so much with this one stamp set lately it's beginning to look like that's the only stamps I have. I'm just really into this set right now. They are just so Springy and cheerful looking.

The Never ending Card continues on

Well here's flip 2. One more to go. It was suggested by Debi that this would make a great Mothers Day card. That was a perfect idea for me. My moms birthday is the 7th and Mothers Day is the 11th. So flip one will be a birthday wish and flip 2 will be a Mothers day wish. I must start planning it out. Picking out the right stamps and colors. But first I need to finish this card. Today I also tried 3 more TJ techniques. Opalite Smoosh which is what it sounds like. Didn't do anything for me. Frog in a blender which is the shaving cream but with Future floor shine instead. I had pictured it being shiney. The shaving cream way is much prettier. Brighter colors. Then I tried the technique I will be showing in April at Scrap & Stamp in Lecanto, FL. which also used Future. Looks good. So ladies reading this coming to the get together we will be making a cool tag and a card to attach it to.

Beates week end challenge

If you have been to Splitcoasters you know Beate. She has a weekend challenge on her blog and today I played. Here's my card. The background stamp is from I Brake for Stamps the Stampin Back Line. I did a resist using Opalite. The other 2 stamps are SU.

Sketch Challenge #7

I finally got a chance to finish my card for the Techno Stampers Monday morning Sketch Challenge this evening. You can see her Blog here: Stamps, ink & paper are SU. I have had this set for awhile and have used all of them but the border stamp which is hidden under the squares. After stamping it and coloring in I wondered why. I love it and will be using it on the next card I make. I also did the stippling with this gadget I've had for awhile called a texture brush. I like how it looks so will be using that more often also. A little bit of Glossy accents sprinkled with glitter on the bee's wings finished it off.

Never Ending card**First Flip

Well here it is The First Flip. I'm pleased with how it turned out. I think this card is turning out better because I'm only tackling one flip at a time. 2 flips to go. Hope you like this enough to give it a try. I don't think this is a card you will make a lot of. It's a card for a special person who will appreciate all the work put in to it.

My TJ swap card

Here is the card I am sending in for the Technique Junkie monthly swap. I used 2 of the newest techniques. Opalite Infusion and Pouncing. Tried out my new SU photo corner punch. The stamp is also SU. It was suggested to me to stand my cards up on a white background to take their pictures. It made a big difference I must admit. So I suggest this to you. It really shows off the card better. Give it a try.

The card that never ends

Well Saturday I spent the day with some stamping friends on an outing. Debi brings these cards she had just made. The directions were in my favorite Magazine Scrap & Stamp. I flipped and flipped and flipped. It was fun and reminded me of a song a few years ago I listened to endlessly. It's the song that never ends. It just goes on and on my friend.......So me being me went home that evening to make this card that never ends. Planned on sending it to my son and telling him there is money hidden inside and see if he can find it. Well after 2 hours of pulling my hair out and giving myself a head ache I finally got the thing put together correctly. Scoring was a bit off but I had the idea. So I have started my second card. This one is much better and I'm just working on one flip section at a time. So here is the start my card front. I'll add each of the other flip sections as I get them done.
