Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge 101--Square card

This week at Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge Blog we are making "Square Cards". I stamped my image 5 times and using my square Nestabilities I cut them out so I could layer them on pop dots matching up the design on each square. Go on over and join in on the fun. You could win a new stamp set.

My image is colored with pencil 5 times and I inked up the backside with black for some added rocks and some blue on the other side for the water.

Happy Easter

Had a few minutes today to play as today was a chore day. Tomorrow more vacationing. I had colored this image the other day for the Christmas card challenge I entered and realized I had made a summer scene so I had to redo LOL. I guess winter is the furthest thing from my mind. Any hoo this stamp is from the Christmas in the Country MFP a HC set. I've decided it's quite pretty all greened up. I added a leafy flourish and a few daisy flowers. I think it looks just like Spring.

A few minutes between vacation fun.

We've been on vacation this week. Enjoying the time off. Today we decided to deal with a few things around the house my husband needed to work on. So I did laundry and worked on a few challenges and a  tutorial I have due. But first I have to say thank you to the Florida Stampers for enabling me. I ended up with 3 of the IO Cover the Card stamps and after today I am hooked and will be purchasing a few more.  I am using them with out the rocker. Just laid the card stock on the stamp and smoothed with my hands. I don't think I will end up with as many as Lynn has but I do have my eye on 4 others. Here are 2 cards that I made using the thick and thin lines stamp. So cool!!!

This first one is for Splitcoaststampers color Challenge CC368, eggplant, grape and melon and the Sketch challenge SC378.

This card is for for Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge SC377 and for the Christmas card challenge I found last week Craftyhazelnuts Christmas Challenge 65 include a house or part of a house. Since selling most of my stamps I was stumped for a few minutes and then saw this MFP a HC stamp... God's House. Hope it counts.

The cover the card stamp made awesome backgrounds for these 2 cards. Making my own patterned designer paper will be very convenient. I can't show you the others I made until next week when the sneak peaks begin for April.

I've started my Christmas cards.

I found this blog yesterday and their challenge is making a Christmas card each week. The challenge was to use buttons. Here is my card using MFP a HC Greetings of the Season.

The other card I made today is for the Speedy TV challenge to use a border punch. I used the colors for the Splitcoaststampers CC367.

Stamps are from the new set Mothers's Magnolias.

Mondays Challenges

I have combined the Try a Technique and the CAS Challenges at Splitcoast stampers.  TLC369 is to crop your image. I stamped it and colored it in then decided on what part of the image to cut out. CAS162 is a sketch to follow. You have a card to look at and follow the sketch.

Winter crocus set from Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Company.

On Saturday I went to a stamping get together and enjoyed a demo on Cover a Card stamps from Impression Obsession. What cool stamps for background making. This is my favorite and I am going to own it.  I used a sponge and my cloud maker to form the background clouds.

There also was a demo on the Postage Stamp effect. This is a real nice look and I could get really hooked on it but I must choose my battles. So instead I chose to use the templates for a shadow stamping look.

The image is from a new MFP a HC set being introduced tomorrow called Lighthouses.

Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge 99-- Clean & Simple

This week our challenge is to make a Clean and Simple card. This means no frills and 1 or less layers. I used a stencil to make my background. Used 5 of the stamps from this set which will be introduced on March 22nd during our Blog Hop. This was put together in 10 minutes. Very quick and easy. Come on over and join the challenge you could win a new Marks Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company stamp set if your card is chosen.

Wild Horses

I have had exactly ZERO time to stamp this week. Had to make some time today to play catch up. Here is the card I made for the Splitcoaststampers Sketch challenge SC375. I really like this sketch. The stamps are from a new set being introduced starting next Tuesday by Marks Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company.

I'm being featured

Mark's Finest Papers and SpeedyTV are adding a new feature to SpeedyTV and their blog. We will now be showcasing a featured designer every week. This week I am being featured. Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. will be creating tutorials for you to use and benefit from so check each week for the details. For my tutorial  I am showing you how to add color to black card stock. This is a fun technique that gives you a different look. I hope you enjoy it. Be sure to stop by SpeedyTV to check out all the other designers tutorials and stories. SpeedyTV also has challenges for you to participate in so check those out as well.  Here is my sample. Now go over to the Speedy Blog for the tutorial information and my 15 minutes of fame :O).

Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge 98-- Bingo chart

This week we are playing a bingo sort of game. The difference is the playing board is already filled in.  What you do is pick a bingo, 3 in a row. Use those elements on your card. I chose Bling, Glitter and a MFP a HC image.

Here's my card. I stamped my image on a piece of acetate and then turned it over and colored it in with Stickles glitter.

Come on. Play along. You could be the winner of a new stamp set.

Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge 97-- Recycle

This week the challenge is to recycle something on your card. Well I suggested this idea and I truly was challenged.  LOL. I started with buttons and then while looking through my stash of embellishments I found kitchen counter top laminate samples. I stamped my image on the piece but couldn't get the coloring light enough so I ended up paper piecing the entire image. Stamps from MFP a HC.

Go on over and join us. We'd love to see what you recycle. Using our products is not a requirement. You could win a new stamp set from MFP a HC.

SSSD-March Technique/Paper piecing

This is a technique I have never done. It's very quick and easy. You will need an outlined type stamp. One you would normally have to color. Here we go.

Stamp your image on the card stock and then on the designer paper. Now I'm only piecing one color. You may be piecing several colors depending on your image.

Color in the parts that will not be pieced.

Cut out the pieces you will be using from the designer paper.

Attach them and make your card.

                                                                Here's mine.

This is another image I started. The leaves and the rose are paper pieced.

SSSD/March Try a Different Card

OK Ladies. This month we are making a Criss Cross card. This was new to me so you will be seeing my very first Criss Cross card as I figure this out.  Ready?! You are going to need a sheet of card stock and scraps of coordinating card stock and double sided designer paper or 2 one sided designer papers.

                              To start you need 2 pieces of card stock 4 1/4 x 11" scored at 5 1/2".

Take one of the pieces and cut it diagonally from the center top to the bottom left.

Take the other and cut diagonally from the center top to the bottom right.

Here is what you will end up with.

Add adhesive to the back of one of the rectangles.

Lay one on top of the other forming your card base.

Next you will need a 4" x 5" piece of double sided designer paper. Cut this in half diagonally. Adhere one to one side and the other using the back side to the other triangular section.

On the inside of the card place adhesive across the bottom of the center and the left side flap adding  2" of adhesive on the top of the flap. See picture for placement if I made no sense.

Fold the right flap in attaching to the adhesive. Then fold in the left flap attaching it on top.

Your card base should look like this.

Now we will make the inside of the card which is going to be a pull out. You will need a         3 1/2" x 4 3/4" piece of white card stock and a 3 3/4 " x 5 1/4" piece of coordinating card stock. Round the  top corners on both pieces and then attach them.

Add something to a corner or the center for pulling your card out. Decorate the white layer as you want.

Here is the finished card with your pulled out section inside the card.  Wrap a 12" piece of card stock or a 12" piece of 1" ribbon around the center forming a band. Decorate any way you want. Could be a bow, a sentiment or an image. Your choice. Have fun ladies.
