PDEC #25- use 3 of something

This week at Pause Dream Enjoy is to use 3 of something. I used 3 die cuts and 3 bling. The bling is made using pop dots and glitter. This is the newest tutorial at Splitcoaststampers called Pixel Embellishmnets. They don't show well in the the photo but they are sparkly and simple to make when you don't have the color you need.

Tutorial Time at Speedy TV #4

This week at Speedy Tv is a lesson on Heat Embossing.  My projects shows several ways to use Heat Embossing. The large background stamp is embossed with Clear powder on white paper and then Sponged over to add colors in the un-embossed parts. The horse and sentiment were embossed with Black powder on white paper. I die cut it out and sponged around the image. And my little charms are die cuts. I cut out and colored with Copics. Then pressed them into a Versa Mark pad and Embossed with Clear powder.

Go on over and add your embossed card. You could win a free set of stamps. The stamps I used are from MFP a HC called A Cowboy Thing.

CHNC Challenge/Wings

This weeks Christmas card challenge was to use something with wings. This image from the Peaceful Nut Hatch stamp set. Colored it with Copic markes and Stickled all over for my snow. I also used the Sketch from Feeling Sketchy to put it together.

What's yellow summery and has a sentiment?

3 Challenge cards that's what. Unable to do the weeding I had planned for today because of back issues i decided to work on some challenges. Not really upset about it but I did want to free my flowers from the weeds choking them. Maybe this weekend. My first card is for the Pause Dream Enjoy challenge is to make a Yellow card. I have been working on my July Technique Tutorial for the SSSD ladies and had a cool yellow background screaming to use it.

The stamp set used is called Daffodil greeting. I used Gold Smooch Spritz on the background. The next card is for the Paper Playtime challenge, anything goes but use a sentiment. The stamps are part of the  Silly Shells set being introduced this week. There is a little flamingo charm hanging down under the sentiment. I'm also going to add this to the Summer Challenge at Speedy TV.

Vintage stitches

This weeks challenge for Speedy Fox and Friends is Vintage. This is a new stamp set that will be available next week called I'm in Stitches from MFP a HC. There are some cute sayings that go along with the images.

I found this button paper and antiqued it a little on the edges with Vintage Photo. Then created a collage like design with 3 of the stamps. Crocheted flowers, tiny buttons and a couple of decorated pins finish it off.  Be sure to enter your Vintage card. You could win a new stamp set.

Tutorial Time at Speedy TV #3

When I saw this challenge I said "why"??????  Please give me a flower or animal. Ask me to make a background. I can have a card made in 5 minutes.  But a Train Tunnel. Where to begin. I am just not that creative. Thank Heavens for the great tutorial Lois made for us to follow. Sorry to say if it has to do with a vehicle of any kind I just have no interest. My husband likes car shows. You know those cruise ins and whenever there is an old car display at a festival.  Or the old tractor displays at the fair. That is where he is. BOY!! if I see it I steer us away from it before he drags me there to look at them. He's smiling and is so excited looking at them. I'm like bored out of my mind. It's a car. It's an old piece of junk. We've been to Nasa, an old train museum and an old airplane show. Just can't get excited about it. I just don't have that gene. Soooooo getting back to this train tunnel. I have been looking and looking at this tutorial and putting it off as long as possible. I am not a put-er off-er. I tried plotting a scene with a house or barn with some horses in the yard, a few mountains in the distance but never got there. I cut the tunnel way down to go along with the tiny train from the Silhouette mini. Cut the bottom half of the image off. Drew in some tracks. Everything else is from the Scenic selections set. Now all you girls out there like me go and make a train tunnel. This is why its called a challenge. :O) When at Speedy TV look for the tab that says Tutorial Time Challenges and click on # 3 for the train tunnel challenge. Enter your card for a chance to win a new stamp set.

My Last Sneak Peak for June

This set is called I'm In Stitches. I did a collage with all the images and two of the sentiments on glossy card stock. The cracked background is from a set called Fun Backgrounds. Stay tune, tomorrows Challenge post will give you another view of this set.  The Blog Hop starts on Tuesday.

Going to the Beach

I just found the Pause Dream and Enjoy Challenge blog and am adding it to my list of blog challenges I am doing. The theme is just right for this weeks sneak peaks for MFP a HC. Make a BEACH card.

I have stamped and colored the shells and cut them out to add to my card.  The set is called Silly Shells. Watch for it next week during the Blog Hop.

A Poppies sneak peak.

This set is called Welcome Poppies. I love poppies and these are so easy to color in.  I used Copic  Markers.

Island Life sneak peak

Another great set you're sure to love. This is just a small section of the actual image. I used more of the paper from yesterday. You can see the shells better with the darker ink. The acetate frame was in a package of embellishments I got at Micheals.

Die cut Challenge and a sneak peak

I made this card for the Paper Playtime Challenge "Vacation Die Cuts". I love this background paper. I found it on a recent shopping trip. It is actually white with the script printed on it and the shells were embossed on it. So I tried sponging around them in hopes it would make them pop and it did. It was like Oh Happy Day. I sure hope they have more the next time I go back. The sneak peak is of a new set being introduced next week called Silly Shells.

Black and white with a splash of color

This is the challenge for Speedy Fox and Friends this week. I'm using a new stamp from MFP a HC. I love pansies so this will be among my favorites. It matches smaller pansies available. Its embossed with black. I colored one in with markers and added stickles to the center of each.

Be sure to enter this weeks challenge. Mostly black and white with a little bit of color on your card. You could win a new stamp set.

Tutorial Time on Speedy TV #2

This weeks tutorial is mine. I had seen a lot of cards lately using this technique and found it very eye catching so decided to give it a try. I love it and hope you do to. Head on over to Speedy TV .

It combines sponging and masking. You could do this along the side or as a square section on the card front to change it up a bit.

A Purple Christmas

This week the CHNC Challenge is make a purple card. I am really getting a head start on my Holiday cards by doing this challenge. It's great. I would never make a purple Christmas card so this was different for me.

Using buttons

This is the challenge for Speedy Fox and Friends this week. I'm using a background made on watercolor paper and stamps from MFP a HC. The buttons I found while out meeting friends in a neighboring town last week. We checked out the local store there and bought lots. They are made out of chip board.
Be sure to enter the challenge. Use buttons on your card and you may win a free stamp set.

Tutorial Time on Speedy TV

Every Friday, starting today, Speedy TV will be running a tutorial. This should be lots of fun and there is a challenge involved with a chance to win a free stamp set. So play along. Today the very first challenge is called Coloring on Distressed Inks with Alcohol markers presented by Tammylee. I enjoyed doing this technique and I'm sure I will be doing it again. Here is my card. I used the technique on all of the layers.

SSSD Different Kind of Card/Shirt card

Hi ladies. This months Different Kind of Card swap on the SSSD is a Shirt card. Use a piece of paper you don't care about for your sloppy copy.  I have used double sided paper as that is what I had. Only one side will show so it is not necessary.  Start with an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper and fold it in half lengthwise.

Fold in each side to match the center fold.

Flod back each center edge as pictured. No special measurement. It will be about 1/4 of the way down.

Now turn it over with the top folds now facing the bottom

Fold the top end down and inch.

Flip it over and fold the top corners toward the center.

This is what it will look like. These are your collars.

Now fold the bottom fold up slipping it under your collar and creasing the bottom.

Add your sentiment to the inside of shirt.

Decorate any way you want. Use buttons, brads for buttons, a tie, a pocket, add cuffs and collar with a different paper.

You also can make a small size by using a 3 1/2 x 5" piece of paper. The only thing that changes is the 1 inch fold that forms the collar is a 1/2" fold. Add it to your card front.
Have fun with this ladies. You can make one in less than 2 minutes after you have figured out the folds.

SSSD-June Technique-2 ways to change a sponged background

Hi ladies this month we're going to change a sponged background using 2 different techniques. We're going to start with 2 pieces of regular card stock. Mine are cut 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. You'll nee 3 colors od dye inks and sponges. Distress ink works excellently with these techniques.

Start with the lightest color and sponge different areas of each. Then continue with the other 2 colors. You can take your lightest color once again and go over it blending the inks.

This is very simple. We will be using one piece of card stock for this portion of the tutorial. Get yourself a cup of water and flick the water at your card stock.

This is what you will end up with and the bigger the drops of water the bigger the water mark on your card stock. Set this piece aside to dry and lets move on to the next part.
Take your other piece of card stock, some Versa Mark and clear embossing powder. Pat the Versa Mark all over your piece covering the whole thing.

                                           Sprinkle with the embossing powder.

Take a score tool or a bone folder and score your piece first in one direction.

                                                             And then in the other.

                                                           Heat with your heat tool.

Now use your 2 pieces to create your card for the technique swap.
                                                              Have fun.
